MLA has a unique skill set to provide an array of graphic presentations, including traditional plan sets, along with 3D modeling for conceptual design, sun/shade patterns, grading design, and architectural impact studies.
Conceptual Design
During the initial stages of design, we explore conceptual alternatives using computer models. These models are tools for design and communication and provide our clients with an additional level of detail to help inform project decisions. Our early models are detailed, accurate, and are further developed for planning and zoning approvals, construction documents, and building permit approvals.
Shade Studies
Understanding the sun/shade patterns is a critical component of the design process that can influence the location and use of outdoor spaces, accessory structures, planting design, and the effects on interior spaces.
Existing and Proposed
Architectural Models for Visual Studies
In addition to our landscape models, we can also create architectural models for visual impact studies to understand the effects of a proposed addition on sun/shade patterns, views, and privacy.
